Focus Group Answers

From our test footage, what impact do you think our camera techniques will have on our music video?
Close ups and over the shoulder shots make the video much more personal. Also allows the audience easily identify who the main character will be in the main video. Also by us using long shots of the locations we have been at will allow the audience to identify any known landmarks of the place.  However adding in a 360 degree shot will allow a wider shot shown of the location and also give the location at a different perspective.

Do you think the locations used in our test footage is relevant to our genre and narrative?
Iconography in the test footage does show the conventions of the genre but also helps the audience distinguish a known location and setting, this could potentially create a wider audience. Also due to it being filmed in a capital city makes it more known to international audiences as they will recognise the landmarks.

Can you see any pop genre, codes and conventions?
Lip syncing is what is conventional of the pop genre that was identified. Also the artists outfit is very fashionable which is also conventional of the genre

Do you believe our artists name, Marcus Matthews is generic of the pop genre?
The alliteration of the letter 'M' makes the name easy to remember and its also very catchy.
